Trivia of the Week: Alpha Centauri

Alpha Centauri is the nearest star to our sun. It’s a little over 4 light years away, which means the light we see when we look at it left the star four years ago. Although it is the closest star in the night sky, it is only the third brightest. It is located in the Centaurus constellation.

ケンタウルス座アルファ星は太陽系に一番近い星です。距離は4光年ちょっとしか離れておらず、私達が見る光は4年前にその星が放ったものです。一番近いにも関わらず眩しさでは3位で、ケンタウルス座にあります。
