A family man is basically a man who has a family, i.e. one or more children. But to be a real family man you must be a good father as well.

「いや、行けないんだ。子供の野球の試合に行くんだよ。」
「子供がいるなんて知らなかったよ！」
Family Man とは基本的に家族を持つ男、つまり子供が1人以上いる男性です。でも本当の意味でのファミリーマンは良い父親でないといけません。
