Foreigners visiting Japan are often told that they must slurp their noodles, or suck them in noisily. This would be considered rude back home, but it makes sense when eating noodles in a hot soup.
「日本では、麺は音をたててすすって食べないといけないんだよ。」
日本に来る観光客はよく音を立てて麺を食べないといけないと言われます。自分の国では下品とされますが、熱い汁に入っている麺を食べるなら納得できますね。
