“When you live near a busy road, you get used to the sound of cars and sirens.”
“This class was really hard at first, but after I got used to it, it was kind of fun.”
When something new and unfamiliar becomes familiar to you, you “get used to” it. This is usually a good thing. When it’s a bad thing, when something new and exciting becomes familiar and boring, we say you “get bored with” it instead.
「大きい道路の近くに住んでいると、車やサイレンの音に慣れるんだ。」
「この授業は最初は難しかったけれど、慣れてきたら少し楽しくなった。」
新しくてあまり知らなかったことに慣れた時「get used to」を使います。通常、良いイメージで使います。新しくてわくわくすることに慣れてしまいつまらなくなった時は、「get bored with」（飽きる）と言います。
