“Don’t try this at home!” is something performers or announcers say when they show a trick that would be very dangerous if not performed by a professional. It is dangerous for children to attempt to recreate things they see on television, such as jumping off a tall building, or at the circus, such as knife-throwing. The Japanese equivalent is “Good children, please don’t imitate this!”
