Jenkins: It was a piece of cake!
If something is very easy to do, we say it is a piece of cake. Of course, some things are easy for some people and not for others. We usually say something is a piece of cake when we are about to do it ourselves, or have just done it. Sometimes we use this phrase to brag about how easy something is for us, even though it is hard for other people. Or we may say it to put on a brave face before a very difficult task.

簡単にできることを「ケーキの一切れ」と呼びます。もちろん、ある人にとって簡単な事でも、それが誰にでも簡単というわけではありません。一般的に、「piece of cake」は、自分がこれからする事や、たった今終わらせた事に使います。また、他の人にとっては難しい事でも自分にとっては簡単だと自慢するために使います。ときには、難しい仕事の前に平静を装って言ったりします。
