“You’re just in time for dinner!” 「晩御飯にちょうどいい時間にきたね！」
“He could have lost his leg if they hadn’t found him in time.” 「早く発見されなかったら脚を失ったかもしれない。」
In timeは「十分早く」の意味です。In timeでなければ遅すぎます。
“In time” means “soon enough”. If it’s not “in time” then it’s “too late”!
「時間がたっぷりすぎたら」という意味もあります：「今は若いけど、時間がたったらわかるようになります。」
It can also mean “after enough time passes”: “You’re young now, but you’ll understand in time.”
