Get carried away（運ばれてしまった）とは何かをやりすぎる、調子に乗ることです。友達から思い出せない歌について聞かれたと想像してみてください。最初だけ歌って思い出させてあげればいいのですが、５分かけて最後まで歌うのはやりすぎでしょう。自分がその歌が好きだからか、歌うことが好きだからついやり過ぎてしまった。
If you “get carried away” you go too far, or do something too thoroughly. Imagine a friend asks you about a song they have forgotten. You could sing a few lines to help them remember, but if you sing the whole song and it takes five minutes, that was probably too much. You got carried away because you like the song or you like singing.
