To make someone pay (for something they did) is to get revenge (for what they did). Of course, it can sometimes mean to force someone to pay money for something. “I made him pay for the window he broke.” But if you only ask them to pay, use a different phrase: “I got my father to pay for lunch.”

誰かに（やったことにたいして）「払ってもらう」ということは、復讐するという意味です。もちろん、言葉通りお金を払わせるという意味もあります。「私は、彼が割った窓の修理代を彼に払わせた。」お金を払うようにお願いする場合は別の言い方をしましょう。「ランチはお父さんにおごっていただいた。」
