“Deus ex Machina” isn’t really English; it’s Latin! But we use it in English to describe stories in which a powerful force solves the protagonist’s problems. It means “god from the machine” and comes from Greek plays where a machine was used to allow an actor to play a god, who solved the protagonist’s problems. It’s usually considered bad story-telling—the protagonist should solve their own problems!
「デウス・エクス・マキナ」は英語ではなくラテン語です！でも英語で、強い力が主人公の問題を解決する物語を説明する為に使います。意味は「機械から神」で、昔のギリシャの演劇で、機械を使って神様を演じる役者が主人公の問題を解決してしまうことが由来です。普段は避けるべきと考えられています。主人公は自分の力で解決しなくては！
