Ted: Yes, she’s very bright.
“Bright” usually refers to something that emits light, such as the sun or a light bulb. But when a person is bright, it means that they are smart or clever. Animals can be bright too. Perhaps a firefly could be bright in both senses of the word.

「Bright」は光を放つ太陽や電球が眩しいときに使います。人に「bright」を用いるときは、頭が良い・賢いという意味になります。人だけでなく頭が良い動物もいます。ホタルだったら二つの意味で「bright」と言えるかもしれませんね。
